Important points for formulation

The polyol to be used, TDI index, the physical properties of the foam, type of the machinery and technology, production medium properties are determining values for the formulation to be used. Besides, the production cost of the foam is tightly connected to the formulation.

Example Formulation:

(respectively to each others in weight)

Poliol (CP 3322): 100 parts
Silicone (SC 240): 1.5 parts
Tin (Dabco T9): 0.24 parts
Amine (Niax A33): 0.12 parts
Amine (Niax A1) : 0.06 parts
Propulsole (Methylene) : 8 parts
Water: 5.5 parts
TDI (T.80): 67 parts
Index is calculated as 1.12.

The foam produced with this formulation should vary between 13 – 14 kg/m3.

The formula for the Isocyanate to be used :

for each 100 parts of polyol used:  (0.155xOH + 9.67xWater by parts)x Index value.
This formula is used to calculate the needed amount of TDI.
